Our Mission
To empower young people and communities with the knowledge, skills, platforms and opportunities required to lead meaningful climate action and advance sustainable development.
YVE Zambia was founded in 2011 during a Regional Climate Change Conference at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka. It was established to create a platform through which young people could become active leaders, advocates and innovators in responding to climate change and environmental challenges.
YVE Zambia is affiliated with Young Volunteers for Environment International, a network with more than 35 country chapters across Africa and an international secretariat in Lomé, Togo.
Since 2011, YVE Zambia has built the capacity of more than 5,000 young climate leaders and contributed to the planting of more than 15,000 trees in Zambia and beyond.
To empower young people and communities with the knowledge, skills, platforms and opportunities required to lead meaningful climate action and advance sustainable development.
A climate-resilient Zambia where empowered young people and communities lead environmental action and sustainable development.
